Uploading Music to Blogger

Do you want to upload your favorite music files to Blogger? Unfortunately, Blogger only allows video and picture uploads. But there is another way to go around this problem. You can first upload your music files to other websites such as Esnips or Imeem and then you can embed the codes in your blogsite. Visitors of your blogsite can directly play the music files. However, the music files created through the aforementioned method are inconvenient to download.

Another simpler method is to first upload your music file to Googlepages, as shown in the illustration below:

After uploading your music files, right click the link and choose copy link location (note: this might only work if you are using Mozilla Firefox browser). You can then paste this link URL onto your blog page or sidebar. On the other hand, you may also want to use the names of the songs rather than the link URL's. To do this, simply type the name of the song and highlight it; then, click the link icon. Paste the link URL that you have generated into the dialog box, as shown in the illustration below:

After creating your song list, you can now save your post and view your blog.

The song list below is created using the method I have just mentioned. Try clicking any of the links. Instead of opening a new web page, a dialog box will prompt you to download the song.

JavaScript Dialog Box

(NOTE: I have removed this feature due to loading problems.)

If it is the first time that you visited this site or if you happen to have reloaded this site, you will be prompted by a dialog box asking your name. After entering your name, a message will appear above the picture of my son on the left sidebar. This trick is made possible by the simple JavaScript codes that I have added.

To add the same feature in your blogsite or website, follow the simple instructions below:

Step1: Open the HTML template of your blog. Add the codes below to the new Page Element.

<script type="text/javascript">
var yourName = prompt("I'm John David. May I know your name?", "Reader");

Step2: Add another new Page Element and paste the codes below.

Hello <script type="text/javascript">document.write(yourName)</script>! Welcome to this blogsite that my father created. I hope this site would be of some help. Please leave a comment <script type="text/javascript">document.write(yourName)</script>

Step3: Create your own message by changing the highlighted texts in the codes shown above. Save and view your blog.
